Holder of Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute was honored to obtain Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) on May 1, 2014, granted by the United Nations.
To be awarded the UN Special Consultative Status, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) must, in addition to having a registered office and a minimum of two years of operational history, possess an approved constitution, a clearly defined organizational structure, an effective accountability system, and democratic decision-making processes.
In pursuit of its noble humanitarian objectives, Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute has met these requirements and continues to strive to deliver its services in the most effective manner, in full compliance with the established criteria.
It should be noted that membership in ECOSOC is purely consultative in nature and does not entail any financial benefits for the Institute.
Recipient of the Golden Insignia of the National Hippocrates Award
The National Hippocrates Award aims to recognize health-oriented organizations and institutions that contribute to improving public health and well-being across the country. By granting this award, encouragement is provided to institutions, organizations, and entities that have delivered valuable and impactful services in the field of healthcare.
This award is presented annually across various defined categories and at three levels: Golden, Silver, and Bronze Insignia.
In recognition of its years of outstanding performance in delivering high-quality medical and healthcare services to underprivileged children under the age of 18, the Jury Committee of the National Hippocrates Award deemed Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute eligible to receive the Golden Hippocrates Insignia. Accordingly, the award was conferred upon the Chief Executive Officer of Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute.
As a result, Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute has, since its inception, been regarded as one of the leading charitable organizations in the healthcare sector and has been formally acknowledged and commended by this national body.
Awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the United Nations Working Group (UNWG)
UNWG (United Nations Women’s Guild), based in Vienna, is a non-profit organization established in 1970. One of its primary objectives is to provide financial support to children in need. Each year, the organization allocates non-refundable grants to qualified institutions.
To be eligible for this financial support, institutions must meet specific criteria and demonstrate alignment with the organization’s humanitarian goals. UNWG supports children facing severe challenges in the areas of education, medical treatment, healthcare, and financial stability.
Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute has successfully received financial support from UNWG for its Cardiac Project. In addition, the Institute was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation titled “Supporting Children of Iran”, awarded by UNWG in recognition of its humanitarian efforts.
Awarded the Health Sector Philanthropy Trophy by Tehran University of Medical Sciences
In recognition of the performance of Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute in the medical and healthcare sectors, the Institute has provided numerous valuable and impactful services to date. These services include both direct collaboration with physicians and academic faculty members in educational activities and knowledge exchange, as well as the execution of infrastructural and operational projects, such as the construction of medical facilities.
Accordingly, Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute has been repeatedly recognized and commended by the relevant authority for its contributions and achievements.
Registered Member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)
The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is an educational and promotional network that facilitates learning and collaboration among businesses, non-governmental organizations, municipalities, and universities. It serves as a voluntary framework to promote corporate social responsibility.
Zanjireh Omid International Charity Institute is a recognized member of the UN Global Compact and adheres to its Ten Principles. The Compact focuses on encouraging responsible business practices in areas including human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, anti-corruption, and transparency.
The UNGC calls on participating organizations to commit to these ten principles within their sphere of influence and to regularly report to the United Nations on the concrete steps they have taken to implement them.
