Diana F. was born on November 11, 2024, in the outskirts of Tehran. Her parents are originally from Afghanistan, and the family lives in a small caretaker’s residence on the margins of the city. Diana’s father works as a daily wage laborer.
From birth, a noticeable abnormality in the shape of Diana’s skull and a prominent forehead were clearly evident. Following medical evaluations and a CT scan, doctors diagnosed an urgent need for corrective cranial surgery. However, due to the family’s severe financial hardship, the operation was not possible at that time, and a corrective helmet was used temporarily.
As Diana’s condition worsened and began to affect her eyes, her treatment was closely followed under the supervision of Dr. Zahra Habibi at Children’s Medical Center. After the family was introduced to Zanjireh Omid Charity and a medical case file was established, the charity fully covered the costs of Diana’s treatment and surgery.
The successful operation, performed before Diana reached one year of age, allowed her to return to a natural and healthy growth path.
According to Diana’s father, the remaining surgical scars on his daughter’s head are lasting reminders of the difficult days the family endured—days they were able to overcome thanks to the compassion, support, and commitment of the Zanjireh Omid Charity.
